Getting there

Unlike many Greek islands there are a number of alternative ways of getting to Corfu:

By air
There are flights direct to Corfu Airport from many European centres. As it is the most northern Greek island, flying times are usually shorter than you would expect – for example, it normally takes only three hours by air from London.
Most international flights are scheduled via Athens where there are two to three daily flights to Corfu.

By sea
Travelling from Italy there are excellent ferry crossings from Ancona (14hr), Bari (11hr), Brindisi (9-12hr), Venice (20hr) and Trieste (21hr) to Corfu.  The ferries take cars and offer a good range of accommodation.
Travelling from the Greek mainland, there is a choice of a regular ferry (1hr30min) or hydrofoil (45min) crossing from Igoumenitsa to Corfu Town.
