Perfectly positioned on the edge of the island with spectacular views, this new architectural development has aimed to redefine the notion of contemporary living in a sustainable context. To start with, the construction team was formed by sourcing a range of specialists from the local communities – engineers, builders, carpenters, tilers, plumbers, painters – in order to bring together the best attributes of modern and traditional skills needed to create sensitive contemporary architecture and design in a beautiful natural location.

Where possible, all materials are sourced on the island. For instance, the fantastic roof beams in each house are from local forests, jointed together using techniques that have changed little over centuries.  Traditional roof tiles are used throughout the development, perfectly meeting conservation area requirements. Terracotta floor tiles and ‘Venetian’ paint-washed walls further create a link to Corfu’s grand architectural heritage.
